It seems as if I only post when I have football photos.  Oh well, it is football season again and I have lots of photos.  Things here are going well.  I love all the free time I have now and not having to deal with insurance hassles.  I miss some of the autonomy of private practice but the tradeoff seems worth it.  Logan has adjusted really well and seems to have taken to his new school.  He is playing trap and skeet with his school.  He loves it but is extremely frustrated by his learning curve right now.  Football is going well and Logan has been enjoying this alot.  It helps that Rick is still coaching his team as that helps smooth out some of his little gaffes.  Nothing major but still he has some troubles knowing the right response in new situations. He has played fairly well.  There is such a range of sizes now on his team.  There are some 6 foot tall boys and some that are smaller than Logan.  Logan is on the smaller to average size.  I am sad that this may be his last year playing and so is he but we shall see.  If he really wants to play next year maybe we can make it work.  Logan continues to do well at school -- he had a 97 average on his last report card.  He still has not been challenged in math-- he is in algebra now and so far hasn't studied once... US history and language arts are a little more challenging as is science.  I never thought the day would come when I wouldn't have to help him with studying, projects, etc but he is much more independent now and does most things on his own.  I guess 9+ years of therapy are finally paying dividends.  AND this is the first year with no THERAPY.!!  He seems to be doing so well that we opted to forgo all therapy and he is still doing awesome.  Now we are talking about college and who ever thought a few years ago that this would even happen.  So proud and happy.

So here are all the pics-- Logan is #54-- from the back his jersey says HODEL.  Beth

THE END OF THE SEASON

So yesterday was the last game of the season for Logan's football team.  It was a crushing defeat.  It was painful to watch the boys lose so badly.  However, for me it was a great moment to see Logan try so hard.  He had 3 tackles in the game and really played for the most part to the best of his ability.  When I reflect on how far he has come over the past few years it fills me with joy.  He no longer is that boy on the field everyone stares at and points at.  He no longer is ever in danger of getting thrown out of a game. He is not embarrassing.  In fact, he just blends in.  Yesterday, he did better than blend in... he played better and cared more than many of the kids out there and did more with less natural ability.  So as I look back on the past few years it has all been worth it to see his progress.  As for school, well there just aren't any challenges to be had there.  He still is making all A's and it is for the most part too easy.  He loves school and learning and has done really well so far this year.

I am recovering from my disastrous car accident.  My hand is almost 90%.  Still some minor pain and swelling.  The strength is at 90%.  I still have back pain and am not allowed to turn, twist, bend, lift, exercise.  That is the biggest impediment right now. I miss exercising and that endorphin kick but healing is the priority so much to my dismay I am following instructions.   Boredom, is my biggest struggle.  So I have tried to do some reading and scrapbooking but still..... I can't wait to be 100% and able to do what I want.

So here are tons of layouts and pics.  Logan is # 60 in the football pics.

And that is all for now.  If you made it this far I am impressed.  Beth

FOOTBALL IS BACK !!!

How can it possibly be that my little boy is starting 7th grade in just a few days.  It seems like just minutes ago that we were starting Kindergarten.  And oh so many changes in those years!!.  We have had a relatively quiet few days and I head back to work tomorrow after a peaceful weekend.  School starts Wed. and I am finding it hard to wrap my head around a soon to be teenage boy growing up.   The boys ( Rick and Logan) had a scrimmage Sat.  Logan has a ways to go to be effective.  It seems to be getting a little harder each year and the boys he plays against -- some of them are huge.!! I haven't gotten any pics off my camera yet from the scrimmage but have some summer pics of Logan and pics from before the first high school game we went to this weekend.  Logan's team ( all the teams in the football league) got to run across the field at Drake stadium before the HS game.  There were over 10,000 people at this HS game.  !!!  Our team lost but we all had fun.  Enjoy a few pics.  Beth

You can see Logan -- he is #60 on the outside running across the field!!!

Well that is all for now. Miss everyone.

A WHOLE YEAR OH MY

A year. I cannot believe it.  Well, it has been a successful year at school for Logan.  He continued to make all A's and really had very minor issues-- mostly because he TALKS too much.  He has boys he likes to hang out with and has started to dabble in the boy-girl thing.  He doesn't get too much of it but he has had a few "school girlfriends"!!

He did really well at football and basketball and took part in a school play this year.  He enjoyed that alot but has developed a significant case of "stage fright"!!  He is such a ham its hard to believe.

Summer is here and he and Rick are off to see family in St. Louis and friends and family in Fl.  It will be a lonely and long 11 days for me without my boys.  Rick will stay in Fl for another month but I get my Logan boy back.

I thought I'd post a whole bunch of scrapbook pages.  They show alot of this year that I somehow just neglected.

Well thats all for now.  I will try to stay more current but no promises.  Hope everyone is off to a great summer.  Beth
